What Is Mold?
Mold can quietly grow in your home long before you notice it. In Magnolia’s warm, humid climate, it often appears as fuzzy spots or discoloration on walls, ceilings, and floors. Mold spreads by releasing tiny airborne spores that can quickly circulate through your home and may cause health problems for you and your family.
Neptune Mold Solutions is a state-licensed company with over 15 years of experience serving Magnolia and nearby areas. We work with homeowners, tenants, businesses, and realtors to detect and address harmful mold. If you’ve noticed strange odors or stains in your home, a professional mold inspection in Magnolia, TX, can help reveal what’s really going on.
What Does Mold Look Like?
Where Mold Is Commonly Found In Homes
Mold tends to hide in damp, hard-to-reach places, and it’s often more widespread than it looks. Even if your home seems clean, mold could already be growing behind walls or under floors. Check these areas regularly:
- Bathrooms (around toilets, sinks, showers, floors)
- Kitchens (under sinks, behind appliances)
- Attics
- Crawlspaces
- Inside walls
- Air ducts
5 Signs That You Need A Mold Inspection
1. Persistent Musty Smell
If you notice a lingering musty odor that doesn’t seem to go away, especially in areas like the bathroom, closets, or any room with poor ventilation, it might signal hidden mold growth.
2. Unexplained Stains or Discoloration
Spots, stains, or discoloration on walls, ceilings, or floors could be signs of mold growth. Sometimes these signs can be easily mistaken for dirt or aging paint.

3. Water Damage History
Leaks, flooding, or water damage from the past can still create the right environment for mold to grow, even if the problem was repaired. Moisture can linger behind walls, under floors, or in hidden areas, allowing mold spores to spread long after the issue seems resolved.

4. New Home or Recent Move-In
Just moved in or remodeled? It’s a smart idea to schedule a mold inspection in Magnolia, TX, to make sure no hidden mold is left behind.
5. Concerns About Air Quality
Are you or your loved ones coughing, sneezing, or feeling stuffy at home? Mold might be affecting your indoor air.

Our Mold Inspection Process
Initial Consultation
We begin by talking about any mold concerns you’ve noticed, like musty smells, visible spots, or past leaks. You can share when the issue started and where you’ve seen changes. This helps us focus on the areas most likely to have mold.

Visual Inspection
Our certified inspectors check every corner, such as walls, floors, ceilings, pipes, and ducts, for signs of mold, water damage, or hidden moisture.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the inspection fix my mold problem?
The inspection is the first and most important step, but it doesn’t remove the mold itself. A professional mold inspector from Neptune Mold Solutions finds where the mold is growing, what type it is, and how serious the problem has become.
With this information, you’ll know exactly what steps to take next. Our detailed report and recommendations help you create an effective plan to remove the mold safely and prevent it from coming back.
How soon can you come out for an inspection?
We know time matters when it comes to mold concerns. In most cases, we can schedule your mold inspection in Magnolia, TX as soon as the next business day, sometimes even sooner for urgent cases. When you call, we’ll work around your schedule to get someone on-site quickly. The faster we inspect, the sooner you’ll have answers and peace of mind.

Are DIY Mold Removal Kits Effective?
DIY mold removal kits can work for very small surface-level mold, like on bathroom tiles or windowsills. However, they often miss hidden mold in walls, ceilings, or HVAC systems. These kits also don’t test for airborne spores, which can spread easily.
If you have a musty smell or see recurring mold, it’s best to call a mold expert near you, like Neptune Mold Solutions, for a full inspection.
Mold is Not Affecting My Health. Do I Still Need an Inspection?
Even if you’re not feeling sick, mold can still damage your home and lower indoor air quality. Some people don’t react to mold right away, but long-term exposure can lead to future health issues.
Mold can also weaken walls, flooring, and insulation if left untreated. Getting a mold inspection in Houston, TX, by our inspectors will help catch problems early before they become costly.

Kris and Neptune Mold Solutions should be your go to contact for any mold concerns or inspection requirements. Kris is very knowledgeable, professional and high integrity. One week before scheduled closing our buyer requested attic mold remediation be completed as a condition of closing. Kris sorted through buyer's inspection report to isolate the real mold issues, completed his inspection and sampling and issued his mold assessment report and protocol for required remediation the next day. He also recommended a highly qualified remediation team that was able to complete the work in one day allowing Kris to do final testing/sampling and complete the clearance inspection and provide all necessary reporting and certifications to satisfy buyer's request for closing. Kris was instrumental in coordinating with the contractor in getting the required remediation and testing done within a very tight timeline. Without Kris and his dedication and expertise we would have not made the required closing deadline. With something as serious and complicated as mold you want Kris and Neptune Mold Solutions on your side. I highly recommend them.Posted on Google![]()

Kristina and Kris are amazing! From my first phone call with them, they went above and beyond. They took time to explain what to expect, what they were going to do, and next steps. They answered my texts and calls almost immediately. They came to two mold inspections and provided the reports very timely. They also had a call with me after the first report to help me understand what I should do, what all I needed to get rid of, and how to clean items I could keep. Will be using them in the future. Highly recommend!Posted on Google![]()

Chris just left my house. I could not have been happier with the experience. He showed up when promised, was professional and friendly, was thorough enough not only to identify the mold but to do quite a bit of sleuthing to find the origin of the problem, gave me a good deal based on the work he did (good value), and I'm looking forward to his protocol report. He made sure I understood the source of the problem and how to fix it. He was even friendly to my dog. Good guy and clearly competent, knows what he's talking about. His wife Kristina runs the office and is really quick/responsive. I would recommend Neptune strongly.Posted on Google![]()

Neptune Mold Solutions (NMS) did an excellent job of helping us deal with a mold issue at our rental property. The potential mold was caused by an inadvertent small water leak in a bathroom when the house was vacant. The NMS was very prompt in coming for a site visit, taking air samples, getting the analysis done and providing a detailed report. They also prepared a detailed protocol report as a hand-off to the remediation company. After the remediation work was done, they were equally prompt to do the follow up analysis and provide a clean bill of health. All the work was done completely seamlessly and they kept us informed of the progress along the way. And always willing to answer any questions we had. A true joy to work with you Chris and Kristina and we wish you the very best.Posted on Google![]()
